Building on the success of the first event held in the birthplace of mountain biking and benefiting the NorCal High School Cycling League, our friends at GU Energy held a second ride in late March from the Pedalers Fork in Calabasas, California to raise support for the SoCal High School Cycling League.
With 40 individuals joining the 60 mile ride through the hills of Malibu, the event was a great success and everyone enjoyed GU’s new stroopwafels and tutti-frutti and gingerade gels at a rest stop along the picturesque Pacific Coast Highway. With the SoCal League staff busy putting on a race the same weekend of the race, NICA’s President Austin attended to represent and was thrilled to be joined by past CA State Champion Will Curtis who is currently in medical school at USC and SoCal League alum and current Cal Poly SLO student Sean Bird for the ride.
With perfect weather, the ride was enjoyed by all and left folks wondering where the next GU sponsored NICA support ride might be held….Stay tuned!
