NICA’s College Essay Scholarships Awarded

We are pleased to announce the 2016 NICA College Essay Scholarship Recipients! The following deserving NICA student-athletes will receive $500 as result of our Educational Partners. We thank Lees-McRae College, Fort Lewis College, King University and Prescott College for their partnership and for this opportunity.


“I am now currently studying mechanical engineering at Walla Walla University. After racing road over the summer, I am taking a break for a few months and focusing on school. I am still riding when I can, however, and I’m hoping to find some enduro races to train for!”

“I am currently attending Sam Houston State University, and studying biomedical science. I am also racing for Team Chumba in the women’s age division 19-39 CAT 1, with the hopes of starting an official club cycling team at SHSU!”

“I am attending Universal Technical Institute pursuing an automotive technician degree.  Between school and work, I am not able to devote time to competing, but friends and I still get together to ride.”
